Definitely less. At a population of 20K (high), if you managed to get an ear from each plant (Not likely), you'd have a little more than 1500 dozen. Sell them for $5/dozen (maybe), and you're well under $10K gross/acre. BUT, sweet corn attracts customers like no other crop and it isn't as expensive as most. It brings people into your market and they buy more. It's still the most important crop for many of the growers I work with.
