A farmer can't spend full-time educating people and
full-time producing the food too.

While agree with you, I would submit that there is a marketing element to any business operation, including direct-market farming. It does take planning in the off-season and can't take too much time in the growing season. But it can be a very rewarding investment.

And I agree, I sometimes wonder why the consumer can't figure it out. But then, maybe that's why the average consumer eats less than 3 servings of fruits and vegetables per day in the USA,...counting potatoes. Imagine how much more they would eat if they really knew how good it could be. The stuff in the store leaves me craving in the Spring as well. My wife is after me to build a hi-tunnel at home for that purpose.
