Can you tell us where you are? Someone
asked me about German Butterball recently and I wasn't sure where it
produced optimally, never having grown it. Thanks! Alison Wiediger, Au Naturel Farm From:

[mailto:market-farming-bounces AT lists.ibiblio.org] On Behalf Of Connie BAUMBERGER I concur; Yukon Gold,
although very popular is a light producer and greens up faster than other
potatoes. No one has mentioned German Butterball as a viable
alternative. G.B. is easy to grow and produces a huge crop of small to
large russeted, golden fleshed spuds with flavor as good as Y. Gold. My
customers eagerly bought them once the tried them. |
