Makes me feel better. Mine is so WEIRD! Seems tight to the point of distortion when there is no wind and yet it flaps when the breeze comes up. I have up tightening it when a carpenter who was helping started pulling his fingers through the plastic while pulling! (urgh!) Now I hear that other people roll the skirt onto a pipe or board and then lean on it. I have to adming, after seeing the stretching and pulling around his finger tips, I'm afraid of something similar happening at the gable, if we pull too much.

Allan,
I think the plastic holds up okay with some movement, especially if
you have a smooth frame - duct tape over the pipe couplers has been known to
help a good bit.
Double layer will Reduce flapping, not prevent it. This farm
straddles the continental divide atop the Allegheny's; my neighbors and I
can see 80 mph winds a number of times per year. The folks doing single
layer we try to pull it pretty tight at installation, because its going to
stretch and loosen up a bit anyway. As long as its moving over a smooth
surface it seems to hold up as well as a double layer.

Hope this helps,
Doyle

Double-poly prevents flapping! The air inside the two layers of plastic
provides significant buffeting against even our 45-65 mph winds!
