Roger
It's been at least ten years so my memory may not be completely
accurate. Jersey Golden Acorn was bred at Rutgers, hence the 'Jersey'. It
came out with a bang and consumers liked it. But then there were some
incidents where consumers became sick and blamed it on the Jersey Golden
Acorn squash they ate. I never got sick but when these things happen,
something has to change. I'm pretty sure the seed producers or Rutgers
withdrew it from the market. I haven't seen it again since about 1990.
