You wrote: Forgive a newbie question - but what are "stock panels"?

In Mississippi we call them "cattle panels" and the panel is 9 gauge (very
heavy duty) welded wire unit - these panels are 8 feet long and 4 feet high,
and cost about $1/foot. They can sort of stand by themselves, and are
attached to metal T-posts, etc.

I have also purchased this exact same fencing (gauge wise and size of
openings, etc.) in a roll, for 46 cents a foot - but had to hire folks to
unroll it and "stretch" it (it is not saggy like regular pasture fencing
but just to get the "roll" out of it). The rolls come in 100 foot lengths
and weigh a LOT - I am not strong enough to fool with them. They are also
referred to as stockyard fencing for bulls.
