Wasn't the NOP set up with allowing a certain percentage of non-organic
feed? Organically grown doesn't necessarily mean it is organically grown. It
just means that the certifiers have approved the farm as meeting certain
standards.

Maybe I misinterpreted some of the comments on this list, but my
understanding was that some think that we need to have some kind of
government intervention to help increase the production of organic products
and get the price down.

My point is that this will all balance with the market. A market, which some
people here seem to deny even exists.

To put this in perspective, there is NO government involvement in what price
we charge for our produce and our beef from Misty Ridge Farm.

And we don't want any involvement. We do get a token subsidy for our land
(similar to the former AMTA program), and while it theoretically lowers our
COP a hair, it is of very limited effect.

Sincerely,

Rick Williams
