For early season and delicate plants we use a mix from Paulino
Gardens/Greenhouses in Denver. Used it since mid 1980's. ('84 I think)
The mix is their standard potting soil but they sell it under the name
"Greenhouse Pride".
The seedlings and rootballs are significantly larger in side by side
comparisons and it gives us the best seedling strength and robustness over
the other mixes we've tried. It's also been a very consistent product.
We use plastic covered electric blanket tables under banks of standard dual
40 watt flourescent lights and bottom water.
