As most people have their name, in some way, in their e-mail address, we
solve the illegibility problem (very high - esp. at a wine fest!) by
asking them to print their name (and their city, btw), as well as their
e-mail addy.
So - if we can't read their e-mail addy, we'll look for spelling of
their name. This usually solves it!
Also - I send out a "test" message to all new subscribers first, before
adding them to the e-mail database. Whatever bounces needs to be
re-interpreted - for ex., was the "e" I typed really an "a"? Etc. I
only lose a few this way (but it still pains me!).
