Hi Marj....ayup...this ol' Maine
clod hopper finds it rather hilarious that even with a "gun" to inject each ear
on an acre or two would be one h--- of a job..:-)..ayup...can see it now...that
ol' sun just abroilin' down...:-) How many ears to the acre?..:-)
Ayup...it's easy nuff to
cut out a little worn now and again...like you thats the way I do it also...and
I can remember the good ol' days...cos I was there..:-)
Franklin
Does sound labor-intensive, doesn't it? ;-) However, I did see a prototype of the "gun" for this purpose at the Northeast Organic Farming Conference a couple of years ago. In the good old days, we didn't worry about such things. We cut off the affected bit of vegetable or fruit or ate around the worm. When I was a kid, one of the first things I learned was to look for holes in an apple I was about to eat and plan my munching accordingly.
