Is there a way to install lyceum in the root of the domain? And just
not use the directory 'lyceum' at all?

This is in fact the recommended configuration.

What parts of the script would have to be changed?

None. :) More info below...

I put all the files that were in lyceum right into the directory 'blogs' including the folders: lib, config, and installation

I also changed the private.php file as instructed (uncommenting and commenting). And it seems to be working - I keep expecting to find something that isn't quite right but haven't yet.

Glad you figured it out. But two things:

[1] I was under the impression that you wanted:

http://blogs.redthreadlove.com/stillhoping

Is that not correct?

[2] Regarding the setting in private.php, that is only if your hosting provider does not allow you to define arbitrary directories as the domain root. If this doesn't make sense, let us know.
