Paul's method is similar to the farm in Hollister. There they plant several verities so that there is an increased chance that a customer will find something to buy. He also tries to time plantings and takes calculated risks to be the first to have something in a season and to be the last. He also tries to plant some unusual verities that may be new to the market and no one else has. It is a balancing act.

He does six markets a week with the biggest the San Francisco Ferry Building where he can turn over $4000 on a good weekend. The smallest is Menlo Park where the return is often $500 a week.
