And the more that folks do just that the less demand there will be for fossil fuels and their substitutes.

Sometimes contributions are different then we might expect. I live about 10 miles out of town - that is 50 hilly minutes on a bike unencumbered so I drive because I deliver the milk to my customers instead of having them come to me. I go to town 3 times a week. I figure I save a minimum of 600 miles a week of driving by bringing the milk to my customers instead of them coming to me. My hay (no chemicals since 1999 but not certified) comes from less then 60 miles away - they are on pasture during the day - and the grain from about 150 miles away from the grower. The law says they are supposed to come to me but I just cant justify the waste.

I know, we need to do this and do that, and all the other stuff, but I'm
not fighting the system when the odds are ten thousand to one against
sustainable change. I just do it.
I grow sustainably with extremely low fossil fuel inputs, and sell locally
direct, the best I can do under the circumstances.
