If I were teaching such a class, I would get hold of a copy
of Robert Waldrop's 'Better Times Almanac' for each student.
I would begin with that as the base, the textbook, if you
will.

I would send for the printed copies - it's printed in
newspaper style, looks like a newspaper.

This is *really excellent* for beginners, just super.

Even if you did nothing with them but hand them out to the
students, it would be well worth-while and it would
complement whatever you taught in class.
