Yeah, certainly. This is a massive failure. But the LOLcat-like
"kthxbai" still resonates more for me.
"KTHXBAI" as in "you are completely irrelevant to me."
Sure, employees invested their lives and their intellects in Motricity.
Means nothing to the C-suite. kthxbai!
Sure, Durham, Research Triangle, even CED, supported this company and
created an environment where it could grow and succeed. Means nothing
to the financial investors. kthxbai!
Sure, its a failing economy and 250 people are going to be without work
come summer. Fuck them! I can haz Infospace! kthxbai!
I don't know anyone who works at Motricity (or if I do, I'm unaware of
it). I don't have a dog in this fight. But this vulture capital
attitude towards people and place turns my stomach.
True justice would be if all of the 250 people who got layoff notices
today just didn't show up at work tomorrow, or ever again.* kthxbai!
Fuck you, too! You can have your company, we're not part of it. Take
your fucking capital and the fucking IP we made for you to Seattle and
don't show your snouts here again.

*As an attorney, I cannot advise this strategy. This would be deemed a
"voluntary quit" and folks would lose their unemployment benefits, not
just their severance packages.
