"Peace Street Market (aka 7 Even) is a *great* place to go shopping."

I agree-- even after all these years, and all the "Big Box" beer and wine stores...

My beer refrigerator has been having some issues (too long a story to tell), so since neither the freezer nor the refrigerator maintains the correct temperature, I decided to see if the freezer was warm enough to keep the beer cold, but not freeze it.  That again is a long story (with a happy ending-- Yes!).  Along the way I found the formula for the temperature at which beer freezes, which might be of interest to some of you who like your beer really cold.

Freezing Point of Beer  http://probrewer.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=6737

The freezing point of a beer is given as Freezing point
(°C) =
–0.42 × A + 0.04 × E + 0.2 in which A is the percent of
alcohol content by weight and E is the original gravity of the wort
(3). On this basis, each 1% increase in alcohol content lowers the
freezing point by 0.42°C and each increase in gravity of 1°Plato
(P) raises it by 0.04°C. Thus, no beer will freeze at
–1°C, and
products at higher alcohol concentrations (including high-gravity
brews prior to dilution) will withstand even lower temperatures.

Since this formula requires the alcohol content by weight, I also looked up some example data:

Alaskan Amber - Altbier - 5.2abv/4.2abw
BridgePort Old Knucklehead - Barley Wine - 9.1abv/7.3abw
Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout - Imperial Stout - 8.3abv/6.6abw
Celis White - Belgian Wit - 4.9abv/3.9abw
Chimay Grand Reserve - Trappist - 9abv/7.2abw
Duvel - Belgian Strong Golden Ale - 8.5abv/6.8abw
Fuller's London Pride - Bitter - 4.7abv/3.8abw
Gordon Biersch Marzen - Marzen-Oktoberfest - 5.8abv/4.6abw
Mackeson Stout - Sweet Stout - 5abv/4abw
Magic Hat Blind Faith IPA - India Pale Ale - 6.1abv/4.9abw
Oasis Zoser Stout - Oatmeal Stout - 5abv/4abw
O'Dell's
90 Shilling - Scottish - 5.6abv/4.5abw
Paulaner Salvator - Dopplebock - 7.5abv/6abw
Pete's Wicked Brown - American Brown Ale - 5.2abv/4.2abw
Pilsner Urquell - Pilsner - 4.4abv/3.3abw
Redhook ESB - Extra Special Bitter - 5.4abv/4.3abv
Samuel Adams
Boston Lager - Bohemian-style Pilsener - 4.75abv/3.8abw
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - American Pale Ale - 5.3abv/4.2abw
Theakston Old Peculier - Old Ale - 5.6abv/4.5abw
Tucher Helles Hefe Weizen - Hefeweizen - 5.3abv/4.2abw

Depending on which thermometer I believe, the freezer is either 20 degrees F or 26 degrees F (or neither :)!).  All this wonderful data aside, the beer is icy cold and even the light beers don't freeze.  All is well with (this part of) the world...

I admit enjoying whatever Trinette brings home and saying thanks; however, Peace Street Market (aka 7 Even) is a *great* place to go shopping.

Nothing like fitness with a daily 12 oz curl.

I've been shocked with the quality of all the alcohol that I've gotten from Trader Joe's :)!

Their winter brew took a first place in my beer refrigerator. It was so good that I vowed to stop buying it.... (Sigh, and I did.)

It's harder to run 40 miles a week in the winter than the summer, and if you can't run the distance, you can't drink the good beer...  Amazingly (no, *Amazingly*!), Michelob Ultra Amber with some sucralose and some saccharine is ... really not that bad :).  It's certainly better than *wearing* the best of Trader Joe's,-- or Duck Rabbit, or Rogue  (For anyone who cares, Rogue Brutal Bitter is now available in 6 packs...  Don't confuse this with the "Special Bitter"-- the Brutal Bitter is stunningly better)

At ay rate, Trader Joe's does have good EtOH... And you can stay slim, fit, and happy with MUA and additives :)

I just had my first Trader Joe’s Bavarian Style Hefeweizen.  Very impressed.  Right on there with Hoegaarden and way cheaper.  Life is good.
