One way to do that, btw, is to just place a space after the first two and
then add your extra dashes like this:

<!-- ---------------- comment here ------------------- -->

That is valid, but you also might want to consider moving over to using
something like an asterisk instead, just in case you lose the space there.

<!-- ********************** comment here ******************* -->
