What is your name?
Jason Laughlin
Where do you live?
Durham, off the 55 and 40 intersection, practically around the corner from Ray's Elbow Room.
What do you do?
Database Admin for Self-Help (http://www.self-help.org), a statewide non-profit focused on increasing low-income and minority homeownership. Currently converting our giant Access database into a killer PHP-MySQL app.
What do you /really/ do?
Dance and teach Argentine Tango (http://www.tangophilia.com), take lots and lots of photos, continually seek out my drugs of choice (new music, stimulating blogs, stimulating images, original thoughts, caffeine, chile peppers, top-shelf tequila, books, gadgets), concocting kitchen creations.
What is your quest?
Build a vibrant community of tango dancers, take people off the street and help them become competent dancers (even if they swear up and down that they can't dance), broaden people's minds about music, food and philosophy, and get people to understand why logic and the scientific method are not "just another belief system".
What is your favorite color?
Blue, Duke Blue, #0000CC, Pantone Blue 072, 286C, 287C, Reflex Blue C. The blue of a clear sky seen through a polarized lens.
I'm also partial to sunset oranges thrown on white marble against a storm-cloud gray sky.
