I visited some Navy dentists early in my enlistment. They were practically drooling when they saw I had my wisdom teeth. "Those need to come out," they told me eagerly.

"No thanks," I answered. I'd seen my private dentist while on leave a few weeks before. He'd given my teeth a clean bill of health.

I'd heard about the "practice" military doctors and dentists, and this just confirms I made the right decision. Yowch!
