I think the above argument is moot. We will see more of what's
happening already-- competition from products written by totally
foreign companies. (Can you say SAP?)

I said SAP to Dice.com and, for the 919 area code it said, in part --
Jobs 1 - 30 of 31 matching your search request.

Relay Engineer - Onsite Energy Services Raleigh, NC (4-6-2003)
SAP Functional - Technisource Raleigh, NC (4-6-2003)
SAP Functional Implementation Support - Manpower Professional Raleigh, NC (4-5-2003)
SAP Implementation Support - Manpower Professional Raleigh, NC (4-5-2003)
SAP CO CONSULTANT - Advent Global Solutions, Inc. RTP, NC (4-5-2003)
Sr SAP CO with PCA PA with Mfg Exp (*HOT Contract*) - ITS Durham, NC (4-5-2003)
SAP Business Warehouse Developer - TEKsystems Durham, NC (4-4-2003)
ABAP Technical Team Lead - TechSource Raleigh (Carey), NC (4-4-2003)
Lead SAP BW Implementation Specialist - ABTSolutions Cary, NC (4-4-2003)
...

Contrary to what their salesmen will tell you, when you break the shrink-wrap SAP doesn't jump out of the box and start running your company all by itself.
