no, no, no; Communism = state ownership. Socialism allows for private
ownership but asks (requires) that benefits be shared for the common good.
And I don't see a radical shift towards socialism here in the past century.
Certainly many social gains were made -- women's suffrage, the 8-hour work
day, unionization -- and the US definitely has a Socio-Capitalist system; but
the system has always leaned and still heavily leans towards Capitalism.
Greed rules.
