SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is responsible
for providing training and support to faculty in the use of various
instructional technologies. Additionally, the position assists in the
development and delivery of computer training opportunities for staff
and students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Trains
faculty, staff and students, in both group settings and on an
individual basis, in the use of all supported computer software and
related hardware. This includes Windows and Macintosh operating
systems, all Microsoft Office products; scanners and OMR, OCR and
image scanning; graphics programs, email software, and other topics
and programs as assigned.
* Schedules, develops and delivers training
classes for faculty, staff and students in the use of supported
software.
* Serves as a consultant to faculty interested in
incorporating instructional technology within their teaching.
*
Assists in determining needs of academic departments for training and
other support provided by Instructional Design & Development.
*
Assists faculty in the creation of materials for classroom teaching
and online learning, and for other professional endeavors.
* Trains
and assists faculty and students with online courses and the
Blackboard Web-based course management system.
* Investigates and
assesses new instructional technologies for possible use by faculty,
staff and students.
* Researches and evaluates, as requested,
software being considered for purchase by faculty.
* Assists with
other departmental projects as assigned.
* Serves on relevant
committees as requested.
