Title: Re: [internetworkers] Cable Modem Blues
Initially I had many occasions of loss of signal with RR.  Often reinitializing my Ashanti Router did the trick---masking the real problem.  Had visits from 3 or 4 T-W service techs, and little improvement in service.  Finally a young tech simply changed the cable from my house to the local area cable box.  All problems resolved.  Leakage in cable gave me a marginal signal.  Moral---check the cable runs first.

I too, have had very few problems with RR.  I live off Litchford near Falls.  Since I work from home, I am online all day, and very rarely have outages.  It's notable when it happens, b/c it is odd.  I hear bad things about DSL in my neighborhood.

I know that some of you have cable modem access with TWC RoadRunner.
We have had it about a month and it doesn't seem very reliable. How
much uptime should we expect? It seems to go down a lot. I was
expecting much higher quality than dialup, but it hasn't been the
case. Thanks, Roger

I live near North Hill Mall in Raleigh. Other than yesterday's mass
outage and a few burps, TWC-RR has been good to me for over six months.
No complaints here.
