I remember reading a year ago about Walt Disney, Nickodeon and other media
giants, sending "cease and desist" letters to young kids that had
"copyrighted material" pon their website. Yes, you are a kid, put up a
website about Mickey Mouse, with pictures and scanned parafernalia or mp3
files of Mickey's laughter, and Disney lawyers were sent after you.

Same thing happened with X-Files fansites.

With the current law, yes, it is legal in the use to follow this non-sense
line of action.
