Another problem with the scenario of Gore playing statesman and conceding
for the good of the country is that Al Gore is done for with the Democratic
party. He has had his shots and no matter what they won't run him again.
George w. on the other hand would be given another chance if he played the
role of statesman.
I think that one new problem is the single county hand recount. We know
that in a hand recount both parties will increase their votes some, but the
winning party will receive more. Machines through out votes that humans
would be able to decipher. For instance votes where the mark or punch or
hole wasn't completely formed, but is present. For fairness, I think that
the Courts today should refer this issue to the Supreme Court and that the
Supreme Court should require a hand recount for all Florida counties. They
can site equal protection as their reason.
