I would have preferred a bit more land, but other factors were just about
perfect, so I can't complain.
I hadn't thought about espalier, but that is a good idea. Could perhaps have
a few more trees that way... hmmm...
I was initially thinking about lilacs, and more grapes, densely planted along
the fence line. intertwined trees would also do well at keeping out unwanted
guests.
I am planning on building a platform on the roof, as well.
"What is that platform for, Mr Officer, Sir? Why, to observe the stars."
"The sandbags around it? Why, to keep me from falling out, of course"
;-)

Are you going to plant regular trees or maybe espalier to use your fence
ine to get more space?
Congrats on the house. You are the only one that needs to be happy, so if
/2 acre is what you are happy with, tough to anyone else :)

I still am here, and wtch for stuff as it comes across.
We finally purchased our house, after the 9 months of camping to save for
down payment. For some of you, won't seem like much, but a half acre lot,
big house, outbuildings, and right in town met my needs. Will be planting
fruit trees, raising beds for gardening, and setting up for protecting
from "occupiers", should they move my direction.
