you may well be right on that one Lynn, my thoughts were the
online courses in research and other related areas. I am sure
there is something out there though. Good luck with the search.

University's School of Library Science, and they had 'career paths' that
had
very little to do with library work. My course work was mostly in
information storage and retrieval and technical writing. They also had a
'path' for setting up office information systems; that included connecting
hardware, software, databases, report design, etc. That was pretty
advanced
for those days (early 80's), and many of my classmates went into the
business of automating offices.
