I sure hope they do release estimates.  They'll have a lot of calculations to
make from multiple streets.

Better download the C-SPAN live coverage, which showed at one point an aerial
view of the area.

http://www.freedomworks.org/blog/max/how-many-people-came-to-912-taxpayer-march-on-wash
there is  link to the C-SPAN live coverage here

Look at it this way.... a typical football stadium holds 100,000 people.

The news reports stating that "tens of thousands" were on sight, by default,
implies less than 100,000 people in attendance.

Using google maps, it looks like the distace from Capital Hill across the
reflection pool to the Washington Monument is a tad over 2 miles.  How many
foot ball stadiums fit in just that area?

There is a lot of disinformation being posted, and it would be easy for
anyone wanting to minimize the attending numbers to make a huge bragging
number and then insert an old photo.  The problem with facebook people is you
have no idea if they did or did not intentionally used old photographs,
spread it all over the internet on purpopse, and then intentionally called up
that  Politifact group and gave them the tip-off to go and compare to an old
photograph in order to discredit and spread more rumors.

Therefore, again, I say look at the live coverage.  That isn't doctored up.

And again, I'm an eye witness, not to the DC event, but to a number of
similar events.  The under-reporting has and continues to be anywhere from
90% to 50% at events I've gone to - so I'm hard pressed to believe that those
same news outlets suddenly have a change of heart and are reporting the truth.

And I couldn't help but laugh when the White House denied knowing about the
rally..................

1)  If that is true, then our nations capitol has a very serious security
risk issue going on.  Can you imagine if this crowd was led by Gen. George
Washington and was arriving to conduct a S. American style coup?  Not to
mention this event has been advertised for more than 6 months and permits
were pulled.

2) If they did know - well, if they knew and say they didn't know ---- the
word liar comes to mind.

Freedomworks (the organizer)  is going  to update their estimate of the
Washington rally today:
http://www.freedomworks.org/

Politifacts had this:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2009/sep/14/tea-party-photo-shows-large-crowd-different-event/

"To bolster countless claims on blogs and Facebook, many posted a photograph
that showed a gargantuan crowd sprawling from Capitol Hill down the National
Mall to the Washington Monument.

But it turns out the photo is more than 10 years old, apparently taken
during a 1997 Promise Keepers rally."

Yep; here ya go; same photo:

Makes it hard to believe anything you read or see on the internet.

Cool.
I suppose I should post the recipe...

http://tinyurl.com/p2mfgv

That page should show pages 110 and 111 in the book, detailing the
recipe. I made changes as noted:
I omitted bell pepper
Used 8# tomatoes, mixture of slicers and paste types
1.5# okra (just couldn't cut enough today, but this seems right for the
amount of gumbo)
1.5 # onion
I increased the citric acid to 1.5 tsp
I added 1 TBSP Tony Chacheries Creole seasoning
Added additional 1/4 c flour to the roux (it just seemed like it needed it)
I boiled the bay leaves in 1/2 c water instead of one cup.

My pH tested 3.9 on my test strips.

Because I omitted and changed the recipe a bit, I got 5 quarts instead
of six, but I kid you not, this stuff is GOOD. I can't decide whether I
should make chicken/rabbit and sausage gumbo, or shrimp...probably shrimp.
