I love cedar trees. I've got a few areas in the woods where I've
favored them and removed pines and other stuff growing around them.
There is one old cedar tree deep in the woods. Since it grew where
trees all are up close to it, it went straight up and must be 40'
high, with no branches on the truck. It's about 1 1/2 or 3 feet thick.
Amazing.

I just found another one that is dead. It's going to make at least 3 posts.

I can buy a thick cedar post for between $2 and $3. Not too bad.

Now fencing wire is a big cost. I'm thinking about comparing some
barbed wire and see how I do with it instead of woven wire.

I can say one thing, a homestead with good fences in place is
something to look for when you buy!
