Dry can (200 degree oven for 20 minutes) in glass jars. For flour and rice, and any other dry goods, freeze at zero, defrost and in the case of beans, besure you have no moisture lingering.

Do you (or anyone) think I'd be wasting some money buying some of the larger
plastic commercial food grade storage containers, they are tightly sealed,
from the local packing houses for the purpose of storing dried beans (above
ground).
I had problems in Miami from time to time with bolweevils (or something like
them) that would invade my stored dried food. I had tuperware which did a
decent job, until it got old and the weevils finally managed to drill a
little hole thru the plastic and invaded....

I was wondering, because there are a lot of "critters" in the
that burrow underground and would love a bunch of free meals without
having to surface. A number of them are quite small in size.
In all home food production enterprises, it is prudent to expect
losses and plan accordingly.
That said, perhaps an outer impenetrable surface, say a plastic
garbage can, with inner dirt and straw surrounding the veggies. Good
experiment.
