I dunno Sage. The blacks here in Calhoun are very different from the
blacks in Atlanta. Here, most are Republican. I only know she voted
for Obama because she wore a pin, but c'mon it is Obama's year, she did
not even need a pin. You may have seen the Obamamessiah youtube scene
that was posted a few days ago. I didn't, but I have seen similar
things on the Atlanta news. Many people, mostly blacks, think that Obama
will literally save them, that they will no longer be responsible for
anything financial. I'm sure some will laugh at that youtube video, but
it is not funny. These people are going to be very, very angry when he
doesn't deliver or live up to his Messiah image. He certainly has done
nothing to dissuade that either. When I first saw the lady being helped
over to the booth, I almost had tears in my eyes, for her hope was
genuine and real. After so many months of words, she put a face on
Hope. Then, I got pissed,,,I felt like cursing Obama, because I wanted
to protect this woman from disappointment. I feel like he has used his
race as a tool, just as he has used religion. It really makes me mad,
and some people, like the lady I saw today, don't deserve the
disappointment from crushed hope.
I know I am at odds with so many of you regarding Obama, and I really,
really don't mean to be offensive right now, but I honestly hope that I
am wrong about him, and that you all are right and perhaps better judges
of character than I am. He has flip flopped and changed up so many times...
But I have resigned myself to the fact that it is inevitable-that
eventually we will say President Obama. If it doesn't happen this time,
then it will happen in 2012 or 2016. Perhaps once he gets into office
the rest of the Democrats will put the brakes on his socialistic
tendencies.
Obama or NObama, one thing is sure...things will never again be the same.

What a great thing to have witnessed Bev. Hope is a powerful and
necessary message. The year before last my friend's son and my
cousin's son, both teens, killed themselves (unrelated suicides)
because they felt life was hopeless. A lot of the crime you read
about stems from a lack of hope. I know it will be a difficult road
ahead for Obama, if elected, to translate a message of hope into some
semblance of governance that might take the edge off of people's
despair. I'm not expecting ice cream, but I am expecting a shift
towards much better things.
Christians won't know until the end if their hope of heaven will
manifest, but that doesn't deter their hopefullness. Obama, who is
neither Christ or Anti-Christ, but an intelligent, fervent politician
with a message of hope for a troubled America can be assessed in only
four years. It's an exciting time when people like this little old
lady feel inspired to get involved. I think no matter what happens in
tonight's election or over the next four years, something has changed
for the better already.

While I was there, I really almost lost my composure. A little old_______________________________________________ Homestead list and
lady came in who had never voted before. She could barely walk and
needed help to vote. She was black, and 87 years old. She voted
for Obama, and was smiling the whole time. It really affected me... But anyway, no one asked if I was Rep or Dem..I signed a card
and I provided a photo ID..
