It is wireless internet that is sent using microwaves. All I know, and I am THE most cyber-challenged person in the world, is that there is a tower on the hill at the end of the valley that the guy who owns The Dairy Store put up and you can get internet service for $30/mo. It costs $99 to have him come out and install the antenae on your house and do whatever the heck he has to do for your computer to talk to it.
I've heard that the Coast Guard uses it but that's about all I know.
The guy up the hill from us came down and asked if he could cut a couple of limbs off one of our oak trees so he could "get a sight line" to the tower." We said sure and then saw him a couple of months later and he just raved and must have thanked me about a dozen times.
So, that's on my doable wishlist.

What does that mean? I know what microwaves are generally, how do you use it for internet connectivity? ....bobford

Microwave, at least here, isn't all that expensive.
$30/mo. I"m saving up
for the installation. Then that's what we're going
with.

Who can afford it? We are poor!
