A T1 is usually fiber optic. NIST (National Institutes for Science and Technology) runs a campus of 3000 scientists off a T1. It's fast.

What is the difference ,moon? I have never had anything other than high-speed cable. I know T1 is supposed to be faster. And that dial-up doesn't allow video. But, otherwise is it all about the same? ...bobford

I have satellite. It's pokey. We had Hughes in the old
house and Wild
Blue here. Wild Blue is better so far but it's still
not a T1.

I want to mainline my connectivity. ; )

I am not a patient person.
