Today I sealed and finished my birdbath. I got the pictures of it up on the Myspace page (myspace.com/tervetuloa13). They are in the Miscellaneous Stuff album. You can't really tell from the pictures, but it should hold about two+ inches of water in the middle.
The orange 'flower' and yellow sunflower was made with leftover cement. I just slapped some over a small pot and then a small bowl to give it some depth. It seemed a waste not to do something with the leftover cement. At the time we did it, we had no clue as to if it would even turn out. No one wanted those 'scraps' but me. I thought I could make something of it. Flowers came to mind.
There were four of us, and we each made a big leaf like this. One person made a medium sized leaf, and the other three of us made an additional small leaf like the big one. All of these look so good! The picture just does not do it justice. The big leaf is about 18x24". It was really fun to make, and now we are talking about making more to sell.
Speaking of selling, I could not find a buyer for the red rat snake so as promised, I intend to release him tomorrow. I did take a picture of him in the dirty little aquarium I put him in, but I noticed that this morning his color has faded in captivity. His coloration has definitely muted somewhat, but he is still a very pretty snake. Animals that can change their color have always fascinated me.

Bev, wondering if it might be better to just stay up all night..
