I live very close to the edge.
One of the reasons we moved here was so that we would hurt less if something
like this happened. We would be able to be more self sufficient and less
dependent on commerce.
I've always been more of a wannabe, but it kind of looks like my practice
will soon be put to the test. If Beck is right, and we are looking into the
pit of the Great Depression then I may not be a list member much longer.  I
consider internet connectivity a luxury.  I also consider my television a
luxury.  Those two things will be the first to go.  Then, it will be the
phone.  Finally, power.  In a worst case scenario, it will take everything we
can do to make the mortgage should DH lose his job.  If there is no credit,
then folks won't be buying too many cars, or fixing them at the dealership.
I'm not sure what we would do....obviously, he'd do some shadetree work,
woodworking, etc., but is that enough to save the farm if there is no regular
income? I could rent the pasture out..clean houses or whatever...
What about you all?

Wilting is just lack of water.  If they aren't wilting, then they are getting
enough water.  The shade cloth is not to diminish scald or sunburn or
whatever you want to call it, its purpose it to create a cooler microclimate
for your tomatoes, to lower the ambient temperature the way misting would, so
that the plant's pollen remains viable.

most time was way too hot.
