Sandy I planted some tomatoes in early august, but it was just too darn hot
for them to set blooms this year.  You sound like you are in zone 9, but were
able to have a summer crop.  You should easily be able to plant a fall/
winter crop which should last until mid-spring ...bobf

We've already picked all the tomatoes we're going to have. The plants are 
drying out now, and they're done. That's what makes me wonder about the zone.
Neither one of us does canning of any sort - she works and I don't know how
