As you are aware, a president can only server two terms so the present
administration is out of office no matter what happens. The case you (nor anyone)
have not made is that McCain is a continuation of the present administration.

A continuation of the same party holding the White House historically finds a continuation of the same philosophy of what the government should do. While both parties shift to the middle to get elected, they usually slide back to their right or left positions. Occasionally the party bends to public outrage and/or great fear. We have the potential today for both.

Power corrupts. If anyone disagrees with my belief that it is prudent to vote against any incumbent holder of public office unless they have been truly outstanding, please, let us have that discussion. My belief extends to the two major political parties in this country. For the best chance at balance it is necessary to change parties.

The best I would hope for if McCain is elected would be that the Democrats gain enough votes in Congress to force bipartisanship. I am not confident that will happen. Overriding vetoes generally requires strong bipartisanship, a waning occurrence.
