A year ago the subprime debacle began, though it feels like it's been much
longer (like the run up to the election). Since then, Bear Stearns and
IndyMac have failed (or whatever term you call it). Fannie and Freddie have
been propped up as have countless major banks. Airlines, stores and
restaurants have filed bankruptcy and closed. We have rising unemployment
and falling home values in major metro areas. Food costs for staple items
are up significantly.

It gives one pause....

And we all had such high hopes for change after the Democrats took control of
Congress...and now we are gonna get more change...can we survive this?

I remember how loudly some of you were crowing when the Dems took the
house and senate. Some of you were very harsh when I was critical of
those same Dems, which, quite frankly is why I took a hiatus. Didn't
need all the negativity. There's enough of that around me as it is...

To semi-qoute Obama's minister, adviser, and now dis-avowed former
political advisor, "the chickens are coming home to roost"

Told you so.

Dems are socialists, Repubs far too liberal, and we're getting screwed
by the "powers" in either party

Unfortunately, I don't see it getting better, no matter who gets
elected. Is the next "effective" measure going to be a revolution?

Thats what some of the founders believed would be necessary...

Ray
