I once wrote a bit in twelve parts on what cosmic lessons the garden had
taught me with each part about a perticular vegetable. The overall tie-in
was
exactly what Gene has expressed, Nature is no respecter of persons. As has
been
experessed in other holy writs, "... maketh the sun to shine on the good and
evil, and sendeth the rain to the just and the unjust..."

Taking a lesson directly from Nature, bypassing all the human generated hype,
if I see a cabbage growing in someone's garden, I can in no wise tell whether
the person was fat or thin, old or young, male or female, nor what their
nationality, religion, language, or sexual orientation. My conclusion then
must
be that Nature doesn't care either. She is completely neutral on those
subjects.

Nor can I tell whether the gardener is wise or foolish ... but the odds are
for the former. Maybe that's what Nature favors.

Do you recall a song a couple of decades back by a group called Mr. Mister, a
song called "Kyrie Eleison"? The ecclesiastical types will say that the
phrase measn "Lord, have mercy" but the Greek more accurately says "Lord,
favor
(me)". That, says I, is the most we can expect from Nature.
