This thread is for anyone who uses solar power for any application.

I have 260 Watts of Solar power. That provides all my lighting, water pump, and AC for laptop and cell phone battery charging. I also have an electric assist bike that can be charged off a 120 VAc inverter from the 12 VDC solar system.

I submit that the biggest source of alternative energy is the energy not required and not used.

As a whole, we will never deal with the energy problem until we embrace this idea. Energy (like money) is best managed by not needing it and not using it .... in the practical world, needing and using as little as possible.

My father and I can't resist when we go by a car lot to let the salesman of becheckered coat come over and foreswear that if we bought this or that new vehicle we'd save $10,000. We feign excitement and say we might as well each buy one and save $20,000. But wait, if we DIDN'T buy one, we'd each save $50,000. So we decide that each of us will NOT buy ten of them, and so we leave the lot half a million dollars richer than when we arrived.
