I have a '90 Chevy Corsica 6 cyl., with a leak which would cost about $800 to fix. It's one of the engine-block gaskets on the top-back of the engine.
I was thinking of using "JB Weld" to pack around it on the outside. JB Weld is a type of high temperature exopy ? that I've used before.
And whoever comes along after will curse you. Also to make JB Weld stay, you will need to make sure the area is clean with no oil. IF it is a V6, more than likely the gasket is the manifold to block, an easy fix.
My Dodge pickup has the Plenum gasket leak common to all Dodges. I fixed it once with the factory recommended parts and it lasted a year. The next time it will get the cradle and parts from Summit Racing. The whole job requires removing the plenum, throttle body, alternator, and required wiring and plumbing. It took me about 4 hours.
