I have a '90 Chevy Corsica 6 cyl., with a leak which would cost about $800 to
fix. It's one of the engine-block gaskets on the top-back of the engine.

I was thinking of using "JB Weld" to pack around it on the outside. JB Weld
is a type of high temperature exopy ? that I've used before.

Going to a straight grade 30 wt will help a little but it will be little.

As for where the leaks are, I would suggest checking the seal around the
front pulley. Another place to check is the valve cover gasket and the
front cover. Take it to a car wash and clean the engine then drive for a
while then find a dusty road. Most leaks will be clearly evident. How
much oil is it using?

Also follow the car down the road. Does it smoke on take off, when first
started, at idle? Does it smoke on a long off throttle down grade or just
when getting on the throttle at the end?
