Crusade: 2) vigorous, concerted action for some cause or idea.

Doesn't have to be about religion. The original "Crusades" with a capital
"c" were about religion but that doesn't mean all are. Bushy has stated he
is on a crusade to change the region to one with democracies. Ain't gonna
work!

Of course, it might work a tad better if 1) the U.S. were a democracy, 2)
the folks running around shouting that folks should be a democracy "just
like the U.S." had a clue that the U.S. is a republic, 3) the rest of the
folks in the world hadn't decided that the U.S. and democracy aren't
synonymous and point fingers at the last election and places such as Haiti
where the U.S. removes elected officials because they don't like them!
