I thought of one more thing, Rob. Let the saw do the cutting. Resist the temptation to push down with your forward hand. If you find this happening, it most likely means the chain is not sharp. The other possibility is you are impatient, like you have a goal in mind and you feel you are fighting time. Resist the impulse to push down. A sharp chain will do the cutting with only guidance by you.
