Oops. Just to let you all know, as Doug Green so kindly reminded me,
the origination of the Ball posting was the GM Pro newsletter. Sorry, I
just quickly cut and pasted without proper attribution. You can read the
entire interview with Jim Nau at
http://www.greenbeam.com/features/theyg070804.stm or e-mail Jim with any
questions at jnau@ballhort.com.
Thanks, Doug, for the reminder.

If you missed them last year, don't plan on visiting the Ball Gardens
this summer. Ball Hort.'s trial and display gardens will be on hiatus
this summer as the company renovates them for its 100th anniversary
celebration in 2005. (Look for debut of the Simply Beautiful Centennial
Collection at GWA this Sept.)The 6 acres of gardens at the company's
headquarters in West Chicago, Ill., will undergo a transformation,
including renovating the gardens' aging infrastructure. Ball, an
All-America Selections trial location, will hold these trials this
summer. Trials manager Jim Nau said the gardens have been used to keep
pace with gardening trends emphasizing new, improved and profitable
crops. He said visitors to the updated gardens will see Ball's
innovation, excellence and creativity. Ball has operated the garden
trials for 70 years.
