Mine grew through the late summer and into fall, but it never sprouted this
spring. I get the impression that this is not as hardy a plant as the
breeders said. I live 70 miles west of the Chicago Botanic Garden, but my
climate is more harsh. Along Lake Michigan, where the garden is located,
the water buffers temperature extremes. It's always cooler there in the
summer and warmer in the winter.
