My plant in Chicago is doing well. It is much taller than I expected--about 30 inches tall and has one flower bud that looks as though it will open in a couple of weeks. It came through the winter fine and sprouted fairly early. I think it was up before my purple coneflowers. Carolyn Ulrich

Mine grew through the late summer and into fall, but it never sprouted this
spring. I get the impression that this is not as hardy a plant as the
breeders said. I live 70 miles west of the Chicago Botanic Garden, but my
climate is more harsh. Along Lake Michigan, where the garden is located,
the water buffers temperature extremes. It's always cooler there in the
summer and warmer in the winter.
