Re aphids:
Lacewings are better natural predators for aphids
and stay in the area.
I sure wouldn't use hort oils on opening
buds.
Insecticide soaps are very non-selective and
probably do more harm when used outdoors than good.
Finally, Bt effective against aphids? I
rather doubt that was what helped you---perhaps some of the other things
you used. Unless I am very mistaken, aphids are not within the category of
species Bt kills.
