Jim,
What you say is true. On the other hand, Ben
Witherington's "Paul Quest" was written in the 90s,
and he defends Ephesians (of all letters!) as
authentic based precisely on the sort of methods you
invoke. (He thinks the epedeicticly rhetorical nature
of Ephesians accounts for the differences between it
and other letters.) So appeals to these new
methodologies can cut both ways.
