Jerome, for one, thought that when Paul spoke of 'his
gospel' he was referring to the Gospel of Luke. What
made him think Paul was referring to a written gospel?
Surely Jerome, like most scholars in the history of
the church, believed that Paul referred to Luke and
his Gospel in 2 Cor 8.18. Further evidence that Paul
knew Luke's Gospel was also found in 1 Tim 5.18.
